Description

The PainBlockerTM is a cryoanalgesia system that uses nitrous oxide (N2O) in conjunction with the Joule-Thomson effect to create subzero temperatures that ablate sensory nerves. The extent of ablation of the targeted nerve is determined by the proximity of the probe and the freezing time (1-3 minutes.) The temperatures achieved by this process are normally -70 °C using N2O. The PainBlockerTM has a built in stimulator, for both sensory and motor stimulation, for accurate probe placement.
